Open Flat - Intermediate Over Fences - Intermediate Flat – Novice Over Fences – Novice Flat – Walk/Trot/Canter - Walk/Trot - The Virginia Intermont College IHSA Riding Team won both home shows on Saturday, Feb. 4 (perfect score of 49) and Sunday, Feb. 5 (score of 47) to clinch their 13th consecutive IHSA regional championship. VI will compete with three other teams, yet to be determined from ZONE 5, at the IHSA Zone Finals on Saturday, March 31st at the VI Riding Center. The top two teams from Zones will progress to the National Championships. The IHSA team completes the regular season on Saturday, February 11 at Virginia Tech. The regional competition for individual riders will take place on Sunday, February 12 at Virginia Tech. Nov. 20, 2011 – Bristol, Va. The Virginia Intermont College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association team remains regional high point leader after hosting IHSA competition at the VI Riding Center. VI earned champion and Wake Forest University was reserve champion. VI’s Lauren Fay of Shelburne, Vt., emerged as overall regional high point rider and Cacchione Cup contender, edging over VI’s Audrey Hanlon, from East Northport, N.Y., who is now in second place as overall regional high point rider. Virginia Intermont College, the reigning regional champion for 12 consecutive years in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association competition, was the high point college at its first Zone 5, Region 4 show of the 2011-2012 season. The competition was Sunday, October 16, 2011, at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. In addition to its team championship, Virginia Intermont had both the high point rider, Helen Williams, a senior from Athens, Ga., and the reserve high point rider, Audrey Hanlon, a senior from East Northport, N.Y.
