Virginia Intermont College invites alumni to come and participate in a fun-filled weekend April 12-14, 2013. We’ve added more activities and more chances for you to enjoy some quality time with your classmates. We hope to see you there!

When Sarah Tollie ’09, a graduate student at Middle Tennessee State University, marketing associate at the Birthplace of Country Music, and alumna of Virginia Intermont’s English – Literature & Creative Writing program, first set foot on VI’s campus, she couldn’t have imagined the world of possibilities the small, tight-knit school would bring to her. Now, eight years later, those possibilities continue to come her way – and she gives VI much of the credit. Join Sarah as she talks about VI’s instrumental role in her journey in “Bristol, the Birthplace, and Beyond: VI’s Lasting Impact” on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. in VI’s Science Hall 201.

From 12-1 p.m. there will be a lunch forum in the Brantley Dining Room (previously the PDR) – “Careers in Natural Resources” – with three speakers:
Caroline Cook – Naturalist, Hungry Mother Park. Caroline has a BA in English from UNC Chapel Hill.
Julie Slater – Interpreter, Grayson Highlands Park. Julie has a BA in Russian Literature from UVA.
Sarah Colletti – Virginia Dept. of Game and Fish. Sarah has a BA in Wildlife Management from VA Tech.

Come learn about interesting careers and interning opportunities in natural resources and conservation fields.
