Virginia Intermont College will celebrate the joy of the season by treating a crowd of children from the community to a Christmas party on campus.
Hosted by VI students from the College Social Work Club, the annual party will be packed full of children, food, music and activities. The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4 in the Student Center.
Children from Bristol’s Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs and Girls Inc. are invited to the special event.
“We had more than 200 children last year,” said Pam Davison, faculty advisory of the Social Work Club. She said children enjoy treats, arts and crafts, games and meet with Santa. Local merchants donate treats and gifts.
The project is a service learning activity for the college’s Social Work majors. The Christian Student Union and many other students, faculty and staff volunteers assist them.
